While I can appreciate the product that Substack creates for users, I don’t want to keep jumping to various platforms that rely on the whims of company decisions, buyouts, and mergers. I recently found a site that is run by a developer and blends in well with the ActivityPub protocols which is where I personally hope more people adopt as we move away from centralized platforms owned by a small group of people.

I really enjoy the vision that Substack and their creators have and they are definitely a step ahead towards writer’s owning their work and the product is delightful. At the end of the day, I do fear that any acquisition could change that and while I intend to be on here, my goal will be to use open source alternatives.

I will post snippets of my work here, but if you want to directly subscribe, to my personal blog, do so here: https://bitsondata.dev/about.
